SEGUIDA "LIVE" @ THE JUNTA HISPANA FESTIVAL, NYC

This Summer's Junta Hispana Festival ended on a high note with the suprise addition of SEGUIDA NY LATIN ROCK as the headliners. The crowd of over 2,000 people were treated to a Hot NY LATIN ROCK SHOW with Seguida Vocalist LORI ROSE opening the set with a hot number called "FUNKY LATIN BOOGALOO." Taking center stage next was Seguida Vocalist DAWN SAVIO leading the audience with a crowd favorite "SUAVECITO!" These girls are a knock out one, two punch, leaving the crowd yelling for more. Seguida's Special Guest Anthony "El Nene Del Barrio" Leon dazzled the people with the Seguida Hit Single "STAY WITH ME." The band ended the set with the flaming hot "FUEGO Y LA LUZ" which featured smoking solos from Congero PITO CASTILLO and Timbalero JUAN GERENA.. Not to be out done, the solos from Trumpet player WILLIE OLENICK, Sax solo from JULIAN MEYERS, and Trombone solo by JOSE DAVILA were outstanding. The solid rhythm section lead by Musical Director and Guitarist LOUIE PEREZ, was rounded out by Band Leader and Drummer STEVE ADORNO, Bassist ADAM MASON, and GREGORY RAHIIM PRESS on Keyboards. You must go see SEGUIDA NY LATIN ROCK "Live." This band is not to be missed! SEGUIDA... they ain't your papi's salsa band!

The Latin-Rock explosion began, when Santana first burst onto the music scene in the late sixties and early Seventies. While Santana was becoming popular in the West Coast, a young group of Talented musicians from the Bronx in New York City wanted to build upon the Caribbean roots of Afro Cuban Jazz, Rhythm and Blues and New York City Salsa.
The group is called Seguida. Seguida's music is a unique mix of funk, hip hop, rock, r&b, salsa and jazz.Building on the strong foundation laid down by the original members of Seguida...present day bandleader Steve Adorno, Record Producer Jay Henry and original founding fathers Lou Perez and Randy Ortiz, along with vocalists Lori Rose and Dawn Savio are bringing Seguida into the future.
